Group Therapy (Equine Assisted Group Therapy)
Group sessions can be open or closed, meaning that a group can last a particular number of sessions or operate as an open invitation from participants to join in at any point and time. As a general rule, the substance abuse groups operate as an open group.
Our program provides a non-judgmental, person centered, humanistic approach that simultaneously challenges and supports the participants. Because of their nature, horses live in the moment; when we partner up with them, a deep connection develops and we begin to open up to the possibility of experiencing a relationship. Healing is achieved by treating the whole person; reconnecting them with the world, nature, animals and most importantly with themselves.
